About Me

I have always loved music, I was a kid who would fall asleep listening to a mix tape. I can remember buying my first stereo. I’d had hand-me-down stereos before but I remember going to the electronic store with my dad and picking out my first stereo receiver. I had saved my money, done the chores and bugged the living daylights out mom & dad so they agreed to match what ever funds I could scrape together. So I bought the receiver and speakers.

I loved the music so much I wanted to be a part of the process of making music. I took piano lessons followed by trumpet but I could never get the creation part of music down. But I could understand the gear. I would breath it. Dad would say “who tould you that it works that way?” I’d shrug my shoulders and say “I don’t know it just makes sense.”

When in high school I was a part of every sound related thing I could find. School plays, talent shows ect… Anything to hang out with the people making music. So when I graduated my plan was simple. Become a recording engineer. But life doesn’t happen how we plan. After school I found myself sitting in front of mom and dad’s tv doing nothing. No recording job, no musically of my own.

My life made a turn.

I got a job at a local tv station. They hired me on my sound background but I soon realized if I was going to go anywhere I needed to move in to video editing. I had always loved movies and tv so it was not a huge jump.

In recording school I became very comfortable with the manipulation of sound over time. A concept that translated to video quite well. So I took to broadcast editing very quickly.
